Men's Fashion

Men's Fashion has changed over time a lot. In the 1950's ,it was the introduction of man-made fabric clothing. The goal was to "look apart of the club", in a boxy sack suit, oxford shirt, rep tie, and loafers. Men were trying to look smart and employable. They used "Natural Fibers" which is claimed to be a good use for clothing.

This is also apart of the boxy sack type of suit below.

Now the 1960's became more rebellious and individual. Clothing reflected this new attitude, especially with younger people who were more concerned about self-expression and individuality than classical dressing. It was like an "anything goes" period. This was like the first time in history that grown men wanted to look young and care-free.

The 1970's, known as Disco Funk. It was more a hippie rebel fashion. For men, it means bell bottom jeans, tie dye shirts, and military surplus clothing. The most popular accessories of the 1970's for men were homemade, like necklaces, headbands, and bracelets made from all-natural materials such as wood, hemp, and leather.

The 1980's fashion for men, brought an explosion of colorful pieces of men's clothing. There were certain types of looks for this type of fashion. Like, a Miami Vice look, which was men who donned in casual T-shirts underneath expensive suit jackets, that were in bright or pastel colors.
In the 1990's men had preppy clothing, which was becoming popular. Especially with young men preferring khaki slacks, blue blazers, and canvas shoes. Men wore straight-leg jeans with wool sweaters, leather jackets, sheepskin coat. Also they wore gold jewelry, which was claimed to be highly considered fashion.
Finally, men's fashion in 2000's were more included in sporty clothing like Adidas, Nike shorts, loafers, camp shirts and baseball camps etc. were very popular. People likes to wear cartoon print hoodies, vintage t-shirts, and slim fit jeans. V-neck sweaters were also very popular.
